D-BOX motion seats are an immersive cinema experience that enhance movies by providing audiences with ultra precise movements, vibrations and textures that are perfectly synchronized to the action on-screen. These sensations are powered by actuators hidden under the seats, which wirelessly connect to a movie’s motion code.
What is a motion code?
Each movie that D-BOX codes—which is approximately 65 per year—is hand-coded by an in-house haptic designer who meticulously goes through D-BOX's library of more than 65,000 unique motion effects to make the experience as realistic as possible. Once this is done (and is sometimes validated by studio directors & producers), the code is sent to D-BOX cinemas. The actuators under the chair will automatically detect the movie being played via audio and associate the appropriate motion code to it, providing moviegoers with a seamless & immersive experience.
